surpassed last year

May 26, 2013
It is May, and I have already surpassed last year's high goal of 120 hours for the service year.  Being able to aux. pioneer for 2 months, made the difference.  Although it was terribly painful on me physically, I was so grateful for the privilege that I just had to do it both months.

On top of that, I am really striving now to get 15 hours a month in.  Prior to aux. pioneering I was only managing 10 hours, but the two months really helped me figure out how I could do more.  I don't know if I can do 15 hours for the rest of the service year or not, but I am going to try.

Reached my high goal

August 26, 2012
I am so excite!  I made my high goal of 120 hour for the service year.

I exceeded my low goal of 100 hours, and still had enough time to get 20 more hours in.

No time to relax, I have to gear up as next year I am raising my goal.

Service Time

July 1, 2012
WHOO HOO!!!  I reached my goal!!!  So for the service year, each month my goal is 10 hours, however I'm just not always well enough to do that.  So my goal is to make 100 hours for the service year.  My big goal is to make 120 hours.  Well, I have 2 months left of the service year, if I can get 10 hours each in July and August, I will have reached my high goal.  I am going to put a big push at the beginning of July, because I know after the D.C. I will be wiped out!  And being the D.C. is tow...

30 Years Ago, Today

March 31, 2011

30 years ago today...
my father passed away.

Although never seeing his children grow,
He gave us wonderful footsteps to follow.

He couldn't be here and that makes me sad,
Although he left us with Jehovah I am glad.

He didn't see us in our lives,
Yet his love for us we feel inside.

He never met his grand kids 3,
But proud of them I'm sure he'd be.

Loosing dad, I deeply felt robbed,
And at times even now it makes my heart sob.

It was often hard and I felt empty and alone,
yet Jehovah never left me by the lo...

emergency evacuation bags

March 29, 2011
I forgot to mention about our emergency evacuation bags.... so Mom was talking to a Witness family about her finishing up her EEBag, and they laughed at her, saying, "I don't think we will be having a tsunami here".  She said, "No, but what about earth quakes, tornadoes, wildfires,"  She then said, "Plus, the society said we should prepare one".  They laughed again and said when did they say that.  She said, well they have mentioned it at assemblies and in the mags as well. They just dismisse...

growing up

July 17, 2010
Our kids are growing up.  We just co-signed for our son to get his first car loan (from a bank).  Plenty of times he has borrowed money to buy things, he has always paid it back.  Plus, he has been really good about working.  Well, he got his first job when he was 10, doing yard work.  He even saved and got himself a lawn tractor and did more lawn jobs, then taking care of the neighbor's sled dog team.  He did that job up until last year when they moved to Gordon.  He has proved himself very ...

Chipmunk

July 8, 2010
So last night, Leon & dad went fishing.  I was painting the Eiffel Tower... well, it would be more interesting than saying I was sitting in my chair watching a movie. :)
anyway, I look down and Latae' is looking at something intently... never a good  sign.  I look and it is a chipmunk.  4 feet away from my bare feet.  After I screamed, I look more to see if it is alive, it blinked it's little eyes jumped up and ran into my bathroom with Latae closely following.
I then ran out of my r...

letter writing

July 6, 2010
For a number of years now, I've done most of my ministry by letter writing.  Door to door is so hard here, as our whole territory is rural and requires so much driving.  What I miss about living in a city is being able to get out and walk from house to house.  But there is just so little area that we can do that here.  The biggest problem is, Douglas county gets no funds for road repairs.  The condition of the roads are so deplorable, it makes them impossible to ride down.  Well, for me anywa...

Latae's back!

July 2, 2010

We have 2 cats again.  2 years ago, our dear son with his keen eyes, spotted a little bundle of fluff.  Leon thought it was a bunny, but it turned out to be a tiny kitten that was 2 maybe 3 weeks old.  She was nearly froze to death, she couldn't even move.  Leon looked around and saw a mother cat in the woods but couldn't catch up to her.  Then checked around but no one had a cat with kittens.  So he brought her home.  Last year, she jumped out the window and was gone for 13 weeks.  She retur...

More

June 22, 2010
More info:  I have had a number of hobbies/interests over the years.  Some of my favorite past times as a kid,

FIRST, my horses, I loved my horses so much, they really got me through some very tough years.
I can't wait until the new system, when I will have the health and energy to have horses again.

SECOND: Sewing. I have always been so picky about ... everything, and I could never find what I really wanted in stores, so I would make most of my own clothes.  I think I liked sewing so much, ...
