Tuesday night meeting
July 3, 2013
From the cong. book study,
A point I focused on is the value of attending the meetings. When you miss one and then another it starts becoming easier to miss meetings, as well as you loose appreciation for just how vital regular meeting attendance is to our survival.
I don't tell our elders enough how much I appreciate their example of being regular in the ministry and their warmth and love in how they shepherd the flock. I need to work on that.
I was so engrossed in listening to the student talks tonight in the Ministry School, that I totally forgot to take notes. Stacy has such a calm conversational way of teaching, that i can't even tell if she is at all nervous. But then she has been giving parts since she was a wee little lass.
I really liked the way Joey started his part... I just can't imagine that he didn't have everyone's attention with those season tickets to the Packer games...way to keep those football fans paying attention. I don't often care for the "football" illustrations, but the way he did that one, I just have to give him props for!
OK, so I didn't even comment about the information from those two talks, although wonderful information, today I wanted to post about the speakers because of how well they did.
The Local needs part.... Serving Jehovah with all seriousness.
To cope with the stresses of life, people often put the pursuit of recreation/pleasure ahead of all other things. The world does this, but should we get caught up in this same routine?
Prov. 21:17... he that is is loving merriment...is in want...
We need to give careful attention to our conduct when it comes time to have recreation. We don't want to forget who we are while we are recreating.
Also, we don't have to be so stern and serious while we are in the ministry that it becomes miserable. There is nothing wrong with being light hearted while we are in the ministry. It is just being balanced.
