I was so tried, I just couldn't pick out what the theme of Bro Whidicurs talk was.  I guess I am still pretty sick from yesterday but here is what I have for notes.

Everyone would like to be free of the problems in life.  But no man or government has ever been able to free us

Duet  30:11... this commandment is not to difficult for you... the word is very near you, your own heart and mouth that you would do it...
Jehovah was telling the Israelites that they didn't have to search for it, because it was in their own hearts already.

Rom 10:5-   ... the man that has done the righteousness of the law...do not say..."who will asend into heaven"... it is the word of faith...
So if they would just pay attention, they would find it.

1) Rom 15:16-.... engaging in the holy work of the good news of God
2) & 19.... i have thoroughly preached the good news about Christ
3) Matt 9:35... Jesus set out... preaching and teaching the good news about the Kingdom...

So these three things, is what is important.

Mark 8:35... who ever gives up his soul for the sake of the good news, saves it...

So just as Jesus gave up his life for the good news, it should be that important to us as well.

2 Tim 1:8... do not become ashamed of the good news... suffer evil for the good news.

Christians had become ashamed, because they were arrested for preaching.

Every Christian in Asia had denounced the good news, when they wouldn't even acknowledge Paul.

What about us?  If this was the situation for us, what would we do?  If you accept it, you have life.  There are many benefits to accepting it even today.

When we are honest in employment, we are trusted with more responsibility.  In the household, the family is happier.  We are free from the pains and fears that accompany immorality and homosexuality.

To what degree does the good news effect our life?
Abraham, was told by Jehovah that he would make a nation from Abraham
Gal 3:8... by means of you all the nations will be blessed...
&16... his seed and Jesus ...

So he had to have a child, it wasn't right away, but 25 years later
Rom 4:    ....based on hope he had faith... even though he was hold, he didn't loose faith...but became powerful by this faith...
This elderly man, left his country, and 25 years passed, his faith never wavered but grew in strength.

Heb 11:17... by faith Ab... as good as offered up Issac... &19... he reckoned that God would raise him up...
He knew that Jehovah said Issac would be that seed, that he would be able to raise him from the dead.

Moses....
Heb 11:24... by faith Moses...refused to be called son of the Pharoah.... because he esteemed the reproach of the Christ...
He could have had all the material things he could ever want but he choose to be mistreated with his people.

It wasn't actually Jesus, but it is the word  Christ and what that means.
His faith was so strong, through his mind's eye he could see God.

Can we see God with our mind's eye so that the truth is that real to us in our daily lives?

Paul
Acts 20:24... If only I may finish my coarse... to bear through witness to the good news....

Do we feel like Paul did, that the preaching work is of the utmost importance in our daily life?  or do we say, I can go out once this month?
How real is the good news to us?  How eager are we to keep up in our studying?

1 Peter 1:10... a diligent inquiry and skillful search... to these very things Angles are eager to peer...
The angles are very interested in how things will work out and as they haven't been given all knowledge.

If someone were to tell a lie about a loved one, or mate... how would we feel, would we stick up for them and tell the truth?  that is how we should feel about the truth.

The world is like a deaf child on a rail road track, they have no idea of the danger they are in.  As we would be eager to help that child, we should feel the same towards those we preach to.

I am only just adding a couple notes for the WT lesson today.

Safeguard your inheritance by making wise choices.
"Abhor what is wicked, cling to what is good"  Rom 12:9

How sad that Esau was so quick to squander this birthright. He lacked appreciation for what had such great value.  It is sad when brothers have not protected their spiritual inheritance as they should have.  And the consequence has been disfellowshippings.  When we are faced with choices in our lives (work, moving, dating) reflecting on the consequences of our actions, with deep appreciation for our spiritual inheritance and deep love for pleasing Jehovah, is the first step in falling away.  We also need to reinforce our defenses by regular and diligent Bible study, attendance at Christian meetings, sharing in the ministry and in prayer.  Also to keep acquiring wisdom and thinking ability of Bible truths.

We can succeed in standing firm against temptations IF we let Jehovah's sayings mold our inner person, IF  we pray persistently for God's directions and IF we keep searching for God's knowledge as if looking for hidden gems.
