Kyle Yullier.... from Ladysmith

ok, I heard the title, but I accidentally erased it, and I can't remember it now..... grrr

The sound today is super quite.  I can hardly hear the brother giving the part.  I am guessing he is a quiet speaker.

With all the wonderful gifts Jehovah has given us and is going to give us, does it make sense that he would give those gifts to someone who doesn't even know who he is?

John 4:22...you worship what you do not know...we worship what we know...

How can we know God?

what does knowing a person really mean?  take...tom cruise?  we may know some basic facts, but do we really know what makes him tic?
It takes time to really get to know someone.

1 Sam 26:    ....saul is chasing David.... it was his chance to end Saul's life  but David couldn't kill the anointed of Jehovah.

2 Sam ... :15 & 16... the emialicite put Saul to death, because he thought that is what David wanted.  But he didn't really know David, and his feelings on the matter.

2 Cor 3:18... we reflect like mirrors...exactly as done by Jehovah...

Ps 78:40 & 41... they would make Him feel hurt... making him feel pain...

When they didn't reflect Him in their lives, it hurt Him.

Gen 18:19...  Jehovah became acquainted with Abraham

It has just gotten too hard to hear the brother speaking... my head is pounding too hard for me to strain anymore.

Appreciate Jehovah's Qualities to the Full
Ept 5:1..."Become imitators of God, as beloved children"

When we think about Jehovah's qualities, we think of love, power, wisdom & justice, but he has more than 40 different qualities.  considering his qualities will deepen our appreciation for Jehovah and strength our desire to draw closer to him.

Jehovah is approachable.  He is invites us to talk with him in prayer anytime of the day and night, for as long as we wish, and he is eager to listen to us and respond.  He will never reproach us for doing so.  If we need him in the middle of the night, he isn't sleeping or busy, he is here for us.

The scriptures show His eyes are towards us with his right hand out to us.  Like a shepherd he holds us close and will carry us when we need him to keep us safe.

The elders in the cong strive to be approachable and available.  Striving to put the flock first.  When I was a little kid, the elders were scary to me, always busy with the other elders, passing around papers.  But over time the brothers were helped to leave their paper work for later, and focus on talking to as many of the friends as they can before and after the meeting.  I see that in our elders, that they try to be warm, inviting and not intimidating.  I have received hugs from most of the elders more times than I can count.  That makes me feel like Jehovah is giving me a hug.  One brother said, he normally just shakes hands with the friends, but for me, he just can't help but give me a hug.  I can't express it, but really Jehovah is the only one who really knows how much that means to me.  He knows I need it, and he provides it in abundance.
When sisters give hugs, you just expect it, but when an elder gives you a hug... it just stays with you.

It is also important to be available.  It is easy to say, "call me anytime", but when you call, you can't reach them anytime. But elders really try to follow Jesus' example to stay with you as long as you need.

Jehovah is impartial.  It is vital that we frequently examine ourselves to see if we are free from having or showing bias or favoritism.  If we are lacking in some area, we need to pray for Jehovah's help to root out any partiality.  Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity & loving kindness and without partiality.
