working hard

that line in the snow is the top of Colton's car.the snow plow punched a small hole in our driveway for us at 7am. Colton was mandated so it worked out, as he got home at 8am, cause he wouldn't have been able to get into the yard. then we couldn't even open the door, he had to shovel that out. EO headed out to go work at the apartments. I am guessing it will take him 5-6 hours to shove them out there. Then he will need to go to his dad's. and then here. We sent him out with extra shirts and a jug of water.
Colton had been awake for 28 hours, so he just couldn't manage to be awake any longer to shovel. I asked the girls to help EO out by shoveling off the deck. Both girls have bad backs when it comes to shoveling. They both have muscle spasms real bad when they do that. With as deep as the snow was, I figured if they both did half, it would be like they each shoveled the deck alone. But Lauren wanted to help Steph, so Lauren did about 2/3 or maybe a tad more than that. Which is prob a good thing, as Steph starts working at Panera tomorrow, and if she would have had more to do, she might have been laid up a day or two.
I feel so bad for everyone who has to be out there today shoveling. I have heard so many people stressed about the chore they are all having to face. At least we all have to face it together.
I really feel for Sarah and her who family. she has surgery today, and they had to be up at the hospital at 7am. The roads were nuts!! most roads aren't even plowed out. Colton said it is way worse in Superior because nothing was plowed. Even the highway had just a small plowed strip. Then when he got to Bennett, he said it looked like none of it was plowed, he couldn't even see where the road was. A few friends from Superior told him he could have gone to their homes, however, they weren't plowed out either. He called me this morning to see if he would be able to come home, and thankfully he could.
i still don't feel real great. oh and last night, EO was up sick for a long time. He didn't get more than a few hours of sleep. Poor guy, and then he has to be out there working all day.
My cousin Jamie is fighting the weather in Duluth. Her husband, Mark, had a stroke yesterday (or the night before) So he is in the hospital in Duluth. The docs are now saying he will most likely pull through. But the family couldn't even be there (other than Jamie) because of the storm. Even their sons are stuck being at home taking care of the place. At least he is making progress.
