The last time there was a wildfire this close to home was in 1975.  There have been a few small fires but nothing like what is happening right now.  So about 5pm yesterday, we found out about a fire that started north of Gordon and was up in Solon and Barnes.  By 10pm over 6000 acres had burned and then by this morning 8600 acres had burned up.  Yesterday the wind was blowing NE so it wasn't coming at us.  Then this morning the wind was blowing SE, still not at us, but the smoke is sure causing trouble for a lot of people.  If it was blowing at us, we would have to take mom and B&C and head for a hotel in Duluth as none of us would be able to breath.  last time i looked 17 homes were burned along with 50 other buildings.  At least there have been no injuries.

I woke up at 6 this morning super sick.  I got up, took some meds and have been up ever since.  Steph listed her Nook on Ebay, but it didn't sell.  So she told me I could play with it, so that is what I am going to do today.  I can do just about anything I want from that little thing.  I am in need of a new computer, maybe we should buy it from her.??  I will have to play with it some more and see if it will suit my needs.  I would still need a computer, but if I am using that more and this less, it might help my computer to survive a little longer.

I also did some shopping.  EO wants me to get a new phone.  Mine keeps shutting off, even when I am using it.  It seems like a phone lasts about 2 years and then we have to replace it.  He said maybe later this month we will get one.  I did do some shopping on line and I think i found one that I want.  It has some pretty decent reviews.  it would be a 'smart phone'. i figured i better learn how to use one as it is most likely what we are going to need as time rolls on.  Poor EO can't even use my 'blackberry' style now.  I just have to dial the numbers for him.  perhaps i will at least buy Steph's stylus from her, i can use that on the phone...i think?
