Update the Update

Yeap tired.
trying to update the evacuation bags and make a list of what we need. the food is old and we are making a few little changes to help lighten the bags.
They are draining her lung sac today and they got 1.5 liters... that is nuts, in just one week to have that much.
So yesterday, the doc told us that the surgeon was being called away for a family emergency and that it will take time before Carol could get a "port line" put in and that she would have to put up with a "pick line" until the surgeon could get it done.
But when we tried to tell the nurse, she said, the doc didn't say anything like that to her, and there was some confusion but she insisted that Carol could get a "port line" put in on Wednesday.
Well, sure enough, just like I figured, the scheduler called and said, the surgeon was called away and that Carol would have to wait to get the "port line". So, Monday Carol will have a "pick line" put in and start her first round of Chemo.
A "pick line" goes in the arm and has to have the dressing changed 2 or 3 times a week. There is also a higher risk of infection. So, it will require Carol going back and forth to the clinic a lot more often. But hopefully, she won't have to do that for too long.
I have to drop the hem in a pair of pants today and EO wants me to make a list of what we need in our emergency evacuation bags. The food is old and it needs to be updated. The meds aren't old yet, but we will switch them out so we can use them up and not waste them. And we are going to do a bit of swapping of things as well to make it lighter to carry.
