the other kind

Must visit someday! Bali, IndonesiaThe other kind of cancer that EO couldn't remember is primary peritoneal cancer or it would be primary ovarian cancer.
According to EO it sounds like Carol may have surgery perhaps this week or the beginning of next week. then she will have 6 weeks to recover before starting the Chemo.
The other option was to have Chemo first then surgery, but we were all concerned that would weaken her to much to get through the surgery. It just seems to be more practical to do the surgery while she is at her strongest then the other way around. Especially when dealing with the "No Blood" issue. Chemo would put her at risk, and that is the last thing we want is to weaken her, since the surgery would be somewhat bloody. Although the doc is very willing to accommodate the "no blood" stand. She said she prefers the cauterizing technique, so that is good.
B&C have some other decisions they have to make besides, so I am guessing we will hear what they have decided later today. But I am just guessing at that. (as whether or not they would have surgery done in Duluth or the Cities).
I know the rest of the family is concerned, but I actually have a lot of confidence in the doc, because she came from University Hospital in the cities. Having spent time down there with Lauren and myself... wow, those docs are on top of things. The doc I saw about my Sjogren's diagnosed it while it was still in their early stages, where the yahoos in Duluth couldn't add 1+1, even when the answer was handed it to them, they still couldn't make heads or tails out of my illnesses. But Carol wouldn't be seeing a local yahoos, she would be in wonderful care. But I do agree with the family that they want to do a background check on her. If she gets good reviews, I know Carol will be well taken care of.
I am not doing so well today. My ribs are flared up, so it is making breathing so painful. I am trying to breath shallow, but... if I gasp at all...it is horrific. Or what is worse is if I cough or sneeze, then tears stream down my face and WOW, even labor pains never caused me to have tears. The past few days my hip and leg have been in constant pain, but even when it is at it's worse, it is nothing like when my ribs flare up.
Well, we have had a weather advisory for extreme heat. So I am keeping our bedroom closed up for the most part, so that when the family needs to recover, they can come into our bedroom for some relief. Poor Steph has to work painting today, in the heat. I told her she should start early but she just couldn't get up this morning.
