Steph is ready to hunt!  At least her fingers will be safe!

It is that time again, the air is crisp, the wood stove is huffing and the meals are all planned out.  Alarms are set early, the coffee pot is full and all the last minute shopping is done.  Besides everything else, all plans for social gatherings have been adjusted and even the job takes a back seat.  Maps and plat books have been studied thoroughly.  Everywhere you look you see an ocean of bright orange.  You may think that it is a national holiday, but it is of far more importance and excitement (to some) It is unmistakable, it is hunting season.

EO and Steph both headed out early this morning to go hunting.  Steph came back empty handed, she didn't see anything.  Now she is off to work, and she will most likely have a number of comments about her blaze orange nail polish. She said yesterday it was a MADHOUSE at the Merk.  It is their busiest day of the year.  All weekend it will be swamped.
Colton said they hunters staying at the hotel started to come down for breakfast at 4:30 am.  By 6am they were all gone.  He ran all morning long.  The hotel gladly caters to the hunters, because they don't have breakfast out until 6am any other time.  Colton said thermos after thermos was filled and it took all his efforts to just keep up.

I do have to say though, I am amazed how quiet it is outside.  Normally on the first day I hear gun shots most of the day, I haven't heard even one.  I even have the window open, (cause it is just way to warm in the house... it was 90 when I got up)  I guess EO didn't want me freezing to death like i did yesterday.  No one was home all day to even start a fire so I just froze all day.  it is just way to hard on me to start a fire anymore.
