mending

Our peak attendance was Sunday afternoon of 4322I have a little bit of mending I need to do today. So now that I am done with my Bible reading and letter writing I am going to get that done this morning. I could save it for Steph to do later, but I don't know what her schedule is. She says she wants to work on her sewing skills a little better before she moves. The whole timing thing... just when she was starting to develop she sewing skills, my eyes failed me so I couldn't see to help her. So I had to stop sewing. Now my eyes still aren't that great, I have trouble seeing dark colors and physically it has been hard on me, but now, ...oh well. I think I still have a project for her to do...a sewing kit we bought her a long time ago. We had bought her a fleece hat and mitten set. She made a bunch of fleece hats. So we are going to be doing that this weekend, or in the next couple weeks. She is still house/pet sitting. Plus she is helping with Hertzners too (at least I think so).
Colton is really excited, he is going to be working with the special needs residents/patients today. He said he really worked his behind off to impress the nurses, and they invited him to help with these other ones today. He is working really hard and loving the job so far.
For family worship last night, we decided to go through the intro of our new book. We all really enjoyed it and decided we would study that as a family. We have been bouncing around as the family wanted to do more than just the WT or something else that we do at the meeting anyways. It just felt like repeat. We did it when the kids were younger to help them be prepared for the meeting, but we needed to grow beyond that. That was the kid's biggest issue, and when the kids were kids... i saw the value in it, but now, they need to be doing their WT on their own (not that they always do) but they need to be taking responsibility for something, like studying for meetings on their own. I remember a part at the meeting that talked about not making Family Worship your personal study time, or just studying for the other meetings). Well, family study (before Family Worship) was the time we would help the kids study. But according to the info in that talk, Family Worship should be entirely different. I told EO it has been bothering me for awhile to just study for the meetings, since we were told we shouldn't be doing that. When we discussed it as a family, they were all in agreement to changing things up. Everyone participates a lot more, and there is a lot more deeper discussion on topics. It just feels so much better than it used to. And after the study last night, we talked about if we wanted to continue going through it for Family Worship, and everyone was in agreement to continue it. The only thing Lauren, EO & I agreed on, was that Steph & Colton cannot sit by each other during family worship... they get the giggles so bad when they sit together. So we are going to have to fix that. LOL... we have silly kids....and the kids have silly parents too.
Well, I had better get to work on that mending.
