EO and I are about to leave here in a few minutes. We will be up town all day. We will be finding out (I believe) when Carol will start Chemo. and I will be getting my masses drained.
It will be a tough day for me, as my lymph nodes are so very swollen. But I will ask for the "power beyond what is normal" so that I won't be a burden but a support for the family.
If I can manage it, I will try to post an update later.
******************UPDATE
wow wow wow... i am so massively tired I can hardly stand it.
we got home just before 7pm tonight. we put stuff away and then by 7:30pm we started family worship. But we had a shorter study night. It had been just too long a day for me to handle much more. Lauren will be gone all day tomorrow, tonight was it. we really only shortened it by about 15 minutes or so. So it wasn't a big difference.
ok, so our first stop today was to meet Carol over at the clinic in Duluth. We got there about 10 minutes before she did. And while we were waiting for her to get there, her surgeon walked by with her brand new baby (super cute little girl). She asked how Carol was doing, and EO told her all that had gone on. She said she felt bad things hadn't gone smoothly for her. EO asked her what the odds were that the Chemo would help, and she said, actually pretty good. That about 75-80 % of the kind of tumors she has respond to the Chemo. So that was very encouraging. I'm just wondering now (wish I thought of it sooner) if she will have to have more surgery since that mass is getting bigger. Dr. Evans did say much depends on if she can tolerate the Chemo because has to be a pretty aggressive kind of Chemo.
And Bill got there about 20 minutes after that. She had already gone in for her lab work but her apt was for an hour after her lab apt. So we were able to sit and visit. She was pretty tired afterwards, but handled it well. Her doc apt went fine as well. He was pleased with her healing and said she is ready for treatment to begin.
Right now, they were setting it up so that Wednesday morning, they will put a port in her below her collar bone (for the Chemo) Then once that is in, she can be wheeled over to Oncology and she can start her first treatment of Chemo. Deenie plans to be with her that day.
As for tomorrow, she still has to go in and have the fluid removed from her lung sac and her abdomen. So she will have another busy day tomorrow.
After that, we went over to my apt. Where I had him drain both the masses . So my jaw feels so much better now!!
then we had to run a few errands and got dinner. Picked up a blouse to wear at the assembly too.
