I thought yesterday wasn't going to be so bad being the day before I was in terrible condition.  WELL i was wrong.  Late in the morning I started running a fever and by 2pm it really spiked, 102.5.  OH, and it lasted much longer than it normally lasts.  It started coming down about 8pm, and by midnight it was down to 99, and than is when I fell asleep.  Then this morning... well, it wasn't pretty but i managed to get myself together in time for the meeting.  It is going to be a rough day.

So, I got everything switched over from my old broken computer to the computer Steph is letting us use at the table.  Well, that is the one now that we have the magicjack hooked up to.  So the first meeting using it, I found out her computer didn't want to let me use it with my headphones.  Perhaps it doesn't have a mic on the computer, I'm not really sure.  I can plug the cordless phone into it and use that, however, I can't hear the meeting at all with it.  So I went and got my new computer from the bedroom and plugged the magic jack into that, and sure enough it works so well, that I am a very happy camper.  However, I plan to have the magic jack plugged into the computer at the table for using the cordless phone and just plug it into my new one for meetings.

Poor EO... I was talking to mom for a few minutes before the meeting started.  EO was trying to call mom... after 5 or 6 tries, he thought maybe she had fallen and figured he better run over there.  in the meantime, it was time for the meeting to start so mom called the hall to hook up and then got me connected.  So when EO got to Grandma's, she started gabbing with him, and he couldn't get out of there.  Then he ended up coming home, because he know i was in really bad shape, so he listened to the meeting with me. 

Now he is fixing me some lunch before he goes and picks up his dad to go see Carol.  EO actually took two days off from going to town, and I think it really helped him.  His whole deposition has improved.  I think he got the down time he really needed because this whole last week, he has been in really rough shape.  

He had a pile of scrap wood he gave to Christiansons.  Then yesterday Adrian came over and helped him cut up 5 dead birch trees.  EO was going to keep 2 of them and the other 3 he is giving to Christiansons.  EO cut them up and Adrian split and loaded them into the truck.  Some of those pieces were so big, they had to put the wood splitter upright and they got 12 pieces out of some of them.  HUGE.  They still have more to do out there.  I think they are going to work on it tomorrow? 

Steph had to work today.  But it was because they are having all the staff there today to teach them how to do various things.  For the longest time, there has been one person for each department.  Like Mora works in the paint department.  If Mora wasn't there and someone came in to buy paint... they were in trouble (if the bosses weren't there).  And every department is like that.  Steph would go around to all the departments and ask them to show her how to do what they do.  But there were still some things she didn't know how to do, like make keys.  So today, that is what is going on there.  Keys is one of the big things, because there is only like 2 people who know how to make keys correctly.  

After 2 years of working there, Other than the coffee shop, Steph never had an "official department".  The coffee shop doesn't keep her busy enough.  She works 50 times faster than the other workers... because elderly don't work that fast.  
So what does she do there?  
she also does the ordering for the bakery items, but that doesn't take her long.  She says apparently she is in charge of the liquor because when she isn't there, no one else stocks the liquor....at all.  The coolers can be empty, but no one will even stock them.  So she takes care of that, including the ordering.  She is the one who does up the warranties on the steel.  I guess because there is a lot of typing with that, and the guy in charge of that, can't type, he has her do them, because she can get them done super quick.  She also sets up displays, and often is the one to rearrange displays.    Now even though she has been the only person to take care of inventory all this time, because there is always computer problems and new labels and all sorts of other issues that everyone hates to do, she has been doing that.  Well, her bosses have set up an arrangement, that she comes in two half shifts a week just to work on that.  She doesn't love the job at all, but it has to be done and no one else will do it, so that it is why she does it.  Because she can figure out the problems and get it fixed and done.  She pretty much knows where everything is in the store.  Where the people who work departments, have no clue where things are in other departments.  That is why, if you ask for something, they try to find someone who works that department because they just don't know.   I think with some of these new ones who just started working there, the bosses hope they will be able to learn a lot more like Steph.  Some start working there and pick the department they want to work in, and won't do anything else. And that just ends up being a big problem.

ok, I don't know why i rambled on so long about that, cause now my fingers are screaming at me.  i guess i am just trying to get my mind off of the pain i am in right now.

one more thing, EO made a fabulous lunch.  bacon cheese burgers with lettuce (i skipped the tomato) BBQ sauce, seasoned fries and onion rings... YUMMMMMM   oh and fresh fruit.
