broken glass

Steph really loves her haircut. The gal really did a great job thinning it out. We always ask them to thin it, but it is never enough. She can actually run her fingers through it. She has never been so happy with her hair ....ever.The glass on our wood stove broke. We called the local glass company, but they didn't return our message yet. There are two big cracks in it. We have been being really careful with it, but last night, when Lauren put wood in the stove, the glass fell (it didn't break anymore though) and even though the door and glass were super hot, Steph managed to take the door off the stove and unscrewed the screws, putting the seal and the glass back in it. Both Lauren and Steph burned some fingers. I was so worried that they were going to get burned worse. While they worked on it, I was on "coal" duty. Only once did a little chunk popped out and I had to grab it and get it before it burned anything up. Well, Steph had a number of fingers that were pretty red, but she said they were ok. But we made her wrap up one of her fingers because it was SUPER red.
Well, I guess Steph isn't getting her dream job at Penera. She is disappointed. Lauren is looking into taking a coarse so she can learn a skill and she knows what kind of job she wants to get into. It requires 10 months of online training. We all agreed that it was an ideal job for her. She has never been a "fast pace' "fast food" "intense pressure" kind of person. She needs something that is 'low key". The training is perfect being it is on line, so that she can work harder on her ministry. Steph has been trying to figure out what training she can take. She knows she needs some, as jobs she is interested in, require some training. But she doesn't want to get into the 4 year stuff, and having to take classes she doesn't need. Just like the WT lesson today. In order to get a job that will sustain and support you in the ministry and worship/meetings, you have to have some kind of skills. The girls have been talking about pioneering. Right now, Lauren hasn't been able to consider it, because of taking care of my mom. That was brought out in the talk today...it is our responsibility to care for our parents and grand parents. that is another issue
My mom desperately needs another worker. Her current crew isn't able to do it all. I kind of wish a tenant or some worldly person could come in, for a number of reasons, but a big reason is, because of when we all leave for the DC each year, there isn't enough people to tend to her. But she is dragging her feet on the matter. She just wants Lauren & EO to increase their time with her. But EO can't take on any more hours and Lauren can't increase her ministry if she takes on any more hours. So I'm asking everyone to pray for an answer to this issue. I think if she had the worldly person working the same shift as Lauren, then there would be less risk of them stealing or harming mom in any way.
So this WT lesson was sure helpful. As these were already the goals we/the girls had, and I think, it has comforted them to know they are going about their goals in the way that the society says is the best for safeguarding their spirituality.
