Bad night for Carol ******UPDATE

soon... very soon!It was so hard to sleep last night. Deenie had called and said Carol was leaking a lot of fluid through her incision. Earlier in the day Carol had been coughing because of having thrush. When she was coughing she had some fluid come through her incision, but it just kept getting worse. So late last night, Deenie called and said they were taking out some of her staples to see if the inner stitches had come loose. They hadn't so they packed off the incision so the doc could look it over this morning. We were all so very worried. We didn't know if it was fluid building up again from the cancer, or water/fluid from the surgery or both, plus there was some blood last night too. We thought they might need to put a drain tube in her so that her incision would heal up properly.
We talked to Deenie this morning, as the doc came in real early. She looked it over and said it didn't look like the fluid from the cancer but the water/fluid from the surgery....HUGE relief!!!! The doc also said she would put a drain tube in this morning as well. So there shouldn't be a delay in Carol being able to go to rehab to heal up. The doc was very reassuring that this is normal and to be expected. I know when I had surgery (some of the times) I had a drain tube in. When Lauren had her kidney surgery, she too had a drain tube. So Carol having one will help her to feel less pressure and more comfortable.
So even though we were relieved, neither EO nor I got much sleep. I have a massive headache this morning. I dragged myself out to get to my Bible reading. I finished the book of Daniel... love that book!! It is just so faith strengthening!!!
So sometime this morning, EO will be bringing Bill up to see Carol. And i will be crawling back into bed. I am so tired, I can hardly see straight. I would image Deenie is pretty worn out too. And Jim, as he went up last night through that whole ordeal.
Normally when I wake up in the morning, I can't go back to sleep again...unless I have a higher fever or a migraine. Well, I that a lower fever last night, but I do have a massive headache this morning, so I think i'm going off to bed now... zzz
*********************UPDATE
So they are not going to put a drain tube in, because the drain tube is actually a vacuum tube and that will only spread the cancer more. So they are going to leave it open and keep it packed off, and they will gradually close it up.
They are also making arrangements to get her into the Villa Marina in Superior. I hope that is where she goes, as it is the place that the whole family wants her to be at.
