I have often wanted to have a page for my meeting notes. Mainly it is for main points that really touched me, or are point I need to work on. Most likely this will be used for Sunday meeting, but there may be some from time to time on Tuesday meetings. I don't think I will be putting assembly or convention notes on here, but I may put a few main points from them on here.
If you review this... please forgive me as I am bound to make mistakes in typing out a scripture or comment. I do my best, but I fall short.
not feeling well

I know I wouldn't be doing well after getting home from the DC, it is to be expected. But wow! I slept for a couple hours this afternoon, and everyone knows, i don't take naps unless I am at my very worst. I am so sick, and dehydrated and in a tremendous amount of pain, just sheer agony.
So tonight, for taking notes.... I didn't think I would be able to manage being hooked up for the meeting, but my mom needs a householder, and Steph is already a householder for Linda, and so that leaves...

Why Live by Bible Standards

Why Live by Bible Standards.... I didn't catch the brother's name who gave the talk.
He spoke of a little boy all alone in front of a table filled with junk food and healthful foods. Which would he eat from? Since he is alone he determines for himself as to what his standard would be as to what food he would eat.
For many years, man has set his own standards and he lives by them. But where has man's standards actually benefited anyone by himself...and more often than not to his own detrime...

The spirit of self-sacrifice

Bro Dan Johnson, gave the talk.... Do I have the spirit of self-sacrifice.
The world is so engrossed in being self indulgent. Parents put their kids in front of the TV allowing the world to teach the children to be self centered.
Num. 11: 31... a wind burst forth... Jehovah allowed quail to fall... the people were collecting it and while the meat was still between their teeth when Jehovah's anger blazed against them...
it was their self indulgent attitude that brought their demise. We can see ...

bad headache

I have such a bad headache, about all I can really manage is to just listen tonight.
Eli, Anne with Carol and Sarah with Kim gave parts tonight. Although Sarah filled in. She did so well with it, I didn't even realize that it wasn't her own part, that she had received the notes from the one who was assigned that part. Some people can sure pull that off well.

Tuesday night meeting

A point I focused on is the value of attending the meetings. When you miss one and then another it starts becoming easier to miss meetings, as well as you loose appreciation for just how vital regular meeting attendance is to our survival.
I don't tell our elders enough how much I appreciate their example of being regular in the ministry and their warmth and love in how they shepherd the flock. I need to work on that.

2/18/2014 it was announced tonight that some things are changing. From this point on, we will no longer be calling our Conventions, "District Convention". It will now be called "Regional Convention". Also our Circuit Assemblies will no long be 2 days, as of 2015 they will be just one day. And Special Assemblies will also be known as Circuit Assembly. (at least, I think I got this info straight. I was scrambling to find a pen and paper when they were giving this info out. Perhaps they will read it again at the next meeting and I can double check the facts.
