thunder boomers

Posted by Robyn Nelson on Wednesday, July 28, 2010,
We are getting some fun thunder storms today.  Leon said this morning after we (Steph & I went to her eye apt.) he was listening to the rain, he saw a flash of light and a huge crash.  He said the house shook!  He didn't know where it hit at first, until he was driving by Jim & Deenie's old house, he spotted a tree, that had 2 huge rips running down it,  When he went to check it out, he saw bark all over the ground about 20 feet around the tree, and at the base of the tree a big hole.   I wil...

sick & tired

Posted by Robyn Nelson on Sunday, July 25, 2010,
Sometimes I really get sick & tired of being sick & tired.

Yesterday was really bad, some friends stopped in and I wanted in the worst way to get up and give them a hug, but all I could do was lay there in my chair and wave.  I don't even know if I smiled, if I did, it was more than likely my sick smile, which everyone who sees it, knows I am faking wellness.

Today I wanted in the worst way to be at the meeting, but this migraine won't leave me alone.  I did manage to get it down so that it...

allergies

Posted by Robyn Nelson on Saturday, July 24, 2010,
Today, someone offered me an item, which was so kind of them, but right away I knew I couldn't accept it, because I could smell moldy type smell on it.  Paper & fabric are the worst for absorbing smells such as perfume, smoke, mildew or mold.  And it is almost impossible to wash it out.of fabric, forget about paper.  I also have trouble with dust & inks.  So books & magazines are so hard to have around.

Not just when people offer me items, but being near a person who has smoke or a musty sme...

poor Grandma

Posted by Robyn Nelson on Sunday, July 18, 2010,

Yesterday Grandma Marge (mom) experienced her first kidney stone.  It is something she hopes she never has to suffer with again.  They did say she doesn't have any more stones in her kidneys (unlike me, I have a number of them just waiting to burst out).  I'm so glad she was able to pass it, and won't have to deal with it anytime soon.  She doesn't need to have that to deal with besides all her other health issues.

When she called me for help, Leon & our oldest ran out the door to tend to he...

done

Posted by Robyn Nelson on Saturday, July 17, 2010,

On Thursday, my mom was over and she helped me finish the puzzle.  I'm so glad it is done.  It was so hard to do. Then she wanted to start another one, so we did, but it was a much easier one, Leon & teff sat down that night and worked on it most of the night, when I got up it was over half done, Lauren sat with me and we saved a little for grandma to do.  So that is done and i am glad.  I don't know if we will do another one.  i don't think i can handle it. Plus, I had a really hard time kee...

Frustrated

Posted by Robyn Nelson on Tuesday, July 13, 2010,
I keep looking on line for meal ideas for my new vegan life and it is so frustrating.  9 out of 10 recipes have ingredients I can't eat, actually I think it is more like 49 our of 50.  I guess I don't need all the answers this week or this month.  I am just tired of looking for awhile.

We did get the van fixed, After the fuel pump, before we even picked it up, we were told a coil was bad, but at least we didn't have to pay for labor on that too, which was really a good thing as the part was an...

broken van

Posted by Robyn Nelson on Thursday, July 8, 2010,
So back when we had the "last minute party", that was the day our van quit working. But we are so broke we can't afford to get it fixed.  Well, today we had it looked at, the fuel pump is shot.  $300 for a new one, plus labor.  Well, we picked up a used one for $65. at least it has a 90 warranty.  Let's hope it all works and we can get the van going.  So we are looking for pennies in the sofa, as we don't want to touch our D.C. money.  I'm sure it will all work out.

grilled cheese

Posted by Robyn Nelson on Tuesday, July 6, 2010,
Today, Steph made me a grilled cheese, with mozzarella.  I've never had one with mozzarella, I don't know why, and I'm sure the rest of the planet has, but it was fabulous!  Now I will never be able to eat one again without it being mozzarella.  It is crazy it has taken my whole life to figure out what everyone else must already know.

I don't know if anyone else thinks this, but I just can't help, when I listen to the new kingdom songs, some of them make me think of various movies.  I sure t...

I'm back

Posted by Robyn Nelson on Tuesday, July 6, 2010,
So I wanted to add, my mom brought some more needle point projects over, one is of a slice of watermelon and the other is the expression  "Give us this day our daily bread" with wheat, a loaf of bread and candle, and a rolling pin that I messed up already.  There was a little bit done on it already, and it is really fairly big.  Being I am still very new at cross stitch, I've only done a couple sets of pillow cases.  I did try some ribbon embroidery years ago.  So this is a pretty good size t...

It's monday!

Posted by Robyn Nelson on Monday, July 5, 2010,

It is yet another monday, and I am already worn out, and it is only 10:30 am. what ever will I do?

Stomach is funky, so I didn't sleep well.  I was up about 7:30, did some bible reading, started a few small loads of laundry, and worked on the puzzle.  I actually got a little of it done.  Grandma Marge has been here a lot this past week, and she has been working on the puzzle too.  She clearly isn't doing well either, as she hasn't done much.  She has worked all sorts of puzzles, 4-D, the dread...

Windy

Posted by Robyn Nelson on Friday, July 2, 2010,

Wow, it is hot and the wind is whippin'.  I did a bit of laundry, and put all those towels on the clothes line.  They dried so fast with the hot wind.  I love saving money by not having to have the dry run for hours.  I do put everything in the dryer for about 20-30 minutes and then on the line.  That way the clothes aren't crusty & stiff.

I had everyone do some chores today, I just couldn't manage more than those 3 loads of laundry.  It is nice having the house cleaned up before the weekend...

No Cure Again!

Posted by Robyn Nelson on Friday, July 2, 2010,

So far this week has been pretty nice weather.  I've spent a little time in the pool, but mostly don't feel so great.  I'm still adapting to my new vegetarian lifestyle.  Today we had a few extra friends playing with us in the pool, that is always fun.

Today I had seen my E.N.T.  about the newest lumps by my ears.  With all the cysts I've had removed, I thought these new lumps could be cysts.  My dr. said they aren't cysts, but lymph nodes.  The one by my right ear isn't huge, but it is big, ...
